Create your own safety plan. Start your journey to a safer place.

A safety plan is a personalised, practical strategy designed to improve your safety while experiencing abuse, to help you prepare for leaving an abusive situation, or to support you after you have left.

This plan contains key information tailored to your unique circumstances and will help you prepare for and respond to different scenarios. It may include informing friends and family about your situation, managing your emotions, and identifying support measures suited to your needs.
This guide contains detailed and helpful information.

Some steps in a safety plan may seem obvious, but during a crisis, it can be hard to think clearly and make logical decisions. Having a plan prepared in advance can help you protect yourself and others in stressful situations.

Our Safety Planning Questionnaire includes important points to consider when creating your safety plan. It can be useful for women experiencing abuse, as well as for friends, family members, and anyone concerned about their own or someone else’s safety.

You can contact us on 0300 365 1700 or via email. Our specialists will support you in creating a personalised safety plan.

If you are using a public computer at school or work, be aware that any information you enter may be visible to your school or employer.

If entering information into a computer isn’t safe for you, you can still read through the safety plan and think through your answers to the questions.
